Power Flushing & System Filters
The main advantages to your Boiler and Heating System they can have
Reduces your Energy Bills
Prevents build up of Corrosion
Increases the Lifespan
Improves Water Quality
Improves Efficiency
Prevents Blockages and Leaks
Prolongs Pumps, Heat Exchangers
Prevents Breakdowns
Reduces Limescale build up around taps/shower heads
Do you want to prolong the lifespan of your boiler and heating system?
The chemical reactions that take place within your heating system as it’s been used normally on daily basis causes a build up of rust, debris and unwanted materials that from to create what we call ‘sludge’. Keeping the correct PH level of the water within your system plays a high importance like how hot your radiators get, prevention of breakdowns and leaks and even how much you spend on your heating bills.
Whats is a Power Flush?
Having a clean system with the correct pH Level can actually save you money on your energy bills. If your system is dirty it takes longer for your heating system to reach the required temperature therefore you are consuming more energy heating your home. Many problems can occur such as radiators not warming fully, cold patches on your radiators, leaking components, blockages, overheating and circulation problems.
Having your system power flushed and having a clean system can prolong the lifespan of your heating system including components. It improves efficiency, prevents build up of corrosion internally, increases heating, hot water temperature (depending on boiler type), can solve noisy systems, prevent breakdowns and also adheres to manufacturers specifications which if not followed can void your warranty.
How do I know if I need a system flush?
If your experiencing any of the symptoms then we can book an engineer to asses your heating system and determine whether your system will require treatment. We will take water samples and test them onsite and advise you what is needed. This may be a system chemical flush, power flush and or have a system filter fitted.

System Filter
What is a System Filter and how does it work?
Simple yet effective, a filter is an attachment that draws unwanted debris and materials that cause harm before they enter your boiler and prevent them from blocking up parts like, pumps, heat exchangers and also preventing sludge build up which prevents radiators getting hot and saves on your energy bills.
Most filters available work in a similar manner. Magnetically drawing the metal materials with a powerful magnet installed in the filer catches all the debris. A Separation type which have a mesh that catch materials that are even non metallic. Most filters are designed to reduce the flow of water as whilst passing through the filter which in itself gathers the debris in the filter body. The more effective filters are the one that use a combination of methods.
How can I get a Boiler and System Filter Installed?
Installing a filter is usually quite easy to install, we will first carry out an assessment on your boiler and heating system to determine if your system is blocked up and will advise you accordingly. A lot of the time after the PH level are checked it will only require chemicals added to prevent further corrosion build up. If your having issues with your boiler or radiators not warming as they should then depending on the type of your system we may recommend a system cleanse or in extreme cases it may require a power flush.
What is a Scale Reducer and what does it do?
Water in the UK in different areas has different qualities, if the water that runs through your taps is not the correct quality than this can react to metals and cause problems. Limescale is a by product of hard water which deposits on surfaces when it comes into contact with surfaces. This can also wear away at pipe internals and heating components causing leaks and failure of parts. You may find this built up around your home in places such as your shower head, your kettle and around your taps.
A scale reducer alters the make up of the limescale or breaks it down by using an electrolytic current reducing it's ability to attach to the internals of where it travels. This stop the limescale been deposited into the pipe internals. Most filters last 10 years but some have lifetime guarantees.
How can I get Scale Reducer Installed?
These can be fitted to your mains cold water supply and also before your boiler for maximum protection, they are easy enough to install providing there is space, most designs are compact and inline.
Book an engineer now to have one fitted, our engineers keep these as part of their van stock.
